Debenhams Wedding Fayre
Jan 8th
DISCOfever will be promoting their services at the Debenhams National Wedding Fayre at the Brighton Churchill Square branch from the 31st January to the 1st February. The store opens at 9am and closes at 7pm on the Saturday and 11am to 5pm on the Sunday. The fayre itself is held inside the store in the Weddings area.
If you’ve already booked your party with us or are still thinking about it, it would be good to see you. We’re also taking one of our chocolate fountains with us flowing with very moreish white chocolate so if you fancy a chat (and a dip) we’ll be there! We will also be hopefully giving away a free copy of Your Sussex Wedding magazine, a great magazine containing lots of useful wedding information and links to venue’s, photographers, cake makers and more!
Can’t You Tell It’s A New Year?
Jan 5th
Ask any wedding supplier and they will all tell you the same thing. The start of the new year is the busiest period for dealing with new business. Since January 1st we have dealt with over 20 enquiries for weddings in 2009/2010 and so far we have converted a good number of those into actual business which is great news! Our new website also appears to be showing some better positioning in Google and other search engines which is pretty cool.
If you have not yet asked us about providing the entertainment at your party this year, now is a good time to do it! It’s never too early but can often be “too late”.
Happy New Year (again!)
Jan 1st
Last night was just a perfect night. Over 100 revellers at the Seattle Hotel at Brighton Marina were entertained by DISCOfever who helped start 2009 with a great party!
The night was absolutely faultless, the dancefloor was packed and there were lots of happy faces! We had other DJ’s out last night as well and it appears that not all the parties were as well attended as the one I did. One DJ reported just 18 at his, another had 25 or so. Maybe the overhyped attention to the “credit crunch” by the media has kept people away from celebrating this time around?
Mind you, think of those who live in Arab Emirates. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai issued an order effectively banning all New Year celebrations in Dubai. The decision was hugely political and was in support of the Palestinians in Gaza who continue to be displaced by the Israeli Army. We have a few friends out there DJ’ing. One was under strict instructions by the Police that he was not to be seen “performing” – therefore he was allowed to change CD’s and then sit down. Another had his party raided by the Police and shut down because people were having too good a time.
The year ahead looks very interesting! The first few months of 2009 are a little bit quiet but the summer is almost packed out. If you haven’t booked yet…get in quick and take advantage of our early bird offers!
Happy New Year!
Jan 1st
Not only is this the start of a brand new year, it is also the launch date of this brand new website! Over 6 months in the making it is the product of long sleepless nights working out how search engines work and hours at the kitchen table slaving over the content and sifting through images.
A lot has changed compared to the old website, it is heavily optimised for Google, and its (almost) tableless design makes it lean more towards proper “web standards”.
Let’s hope it is just as, if not more successful than the previous website!
