Back in February, I posted the five most popular first dance tracks I play at weddings. In this post, the first of a new regular series, I’m going to be posting the most recent first dance tracks I’ve played!
Ok, here we go…
Kodaline – The One
I really like this as a first dance track. It snook out a couple of years ago when Ed Sheeran was pretty much THE choice at the time and the lyrics I think are very first dancey without a doubt!
Muse – Madness & Aftermath
I have to be honest, I’m not a big MUSE fan so when this was selected recently I was a bit unsure until I listened to it. It’s dark, mysterious but a stunning tune and easily one of my favourite tracks of theirs now along with Aftermath which is also a masterpiece and could be used as a first dance…maybe…check them out…
Lady Antebellum – One Great Mystery
Again, another song I’d not heard of…and this is one of the best things about being a DJ – you get introduced to some awesome tunes! In typical Antebellum style, it’s a beautiful, dreamy song in a country style. Thanks to Laura and Joe for introducing me to it!
Ed Sheeran – Tenerife Sea
Certainly joins the ranks of one of the most perfect first dance songs of all time. It’s got a great tempo, perfect lyrics, Ed is almost the king of first dance songs!
Chantal Kreviazuk – Feels Like Home
A dreamy, piano-based song with beautiful lyrics, another perfect song for doing a first dance shuffle to at your evening reception. She’s got an awesome voice, and an ever-so-slightly country style. Just, beautiful.
